is an American fashion designer from San Francisco. Wang's birthplace contributes greatly to his personal style and his design aesthetic, both of which are laid-back. Though his aesthetic is relaxed, his designs are more elevated. He is best known for his effortlessly cool, urban designs.
Wang discovered his love for designing at a very early age, and began his career in fashion at just 15 years old. He then went on to Parsons School of Design, and after just two years launched his first clothing line. In an interview for Highsnobiety, Wang recalls inspirations from his earlier years. He most notably remembers his interest in Japanese fashion magazines, and attributes the Japanese as the "pioneers of street style."

Wang often uses dark color palettes and slim-fitting silhouettes. He is simultaneously provocative and trend-setting. He is often accredited with the popularization of high-low, or asymmetrical skirts. Wang says, "I like the element of surprise. The element of spontaneity. The element of not knowing what might happen and kind of being inspired,” says Wang. “I think it’s important to constantly have that kind of motivation to be able to give people something new to experience."
And surprise he does.
Wang is very well known, not only for his classic designs on the runway, but for the large afterparties that follow a show. He always has an element of theatricality coupled with the same effortless cool found in his designs.
